Program
Overview:
The Pre-Kindergarten program follows the guidelines set by the Archdiocese
of Washington DC. The curriculum is thematic based and cross-curricular. The
children learn through hands-on and center-based activities and in large
and small groups. Our goals are as follows:
Spiritual Development:
- To create an awareness of God through positive relationships
with parents, teachers, and peers.
- To empower the children to speak to God in thanksgiving, praise,
and love.
Intellectual Development:
- To foster an awakening of wonder and curiosity in the young
child and to empower each one to use his/her senses to experience
life.
- To develop listening, thinking, and problem solving skills.
- To develop technological skills that are developmentally appropriate
for young children.
Physical Development:
- To develop muscle coordination, gross and fine motor.
- To foster self-care skills and healthy practices.
Emotional Development:
- To encourage self-control, tolerance, and patience.
Positive Self-Esteem:
To develop independence, self-confidence and a sense of security.
