Grade 5Ms. Tracy CollitonThe fifth grade is a transitional year at Holy Cross. To prepare the students for their entry into middle school next year, we stress organizational, study, reading, and writing skills. Students in the Fifth Grade are mainly in a stand-alone classroom. The students also go to other rooms or have other teachers for Spanish, art, music, library, computers, and physical education. The Fifth Grade curriculum includes decimals, fractions, the parts of speech, the writing/revising process, the history of the American colonies, systems of the human body, and the seven sacraments. The students also work independently and in groups on projects, experiments, and various types of writing assignments. |
